Job description
The City of Port Coquitlam’s Recreation Department is looking for a positive, self-motivated and energetic professional to perform front line customer service work in the City’s various recreation facilities. The successful incumbent will be primarily responsible for providing information to the public, registering attendees to a variety of recreation programs and services, facility bookings, sales and providing promotional assistance.
Some of the key responsibilities of this position include but are not limited to:
- Responds to inquiries and provides information and assistance to the public regarding programs and services via a variety of media;
- Process payments, including but not limited to collecting revenues for program registrations, admissions, pass sales and other revenues;
- Registers customers in programs and maintains records related to transactions;
- Receives payments using a variety of methods and tenders;
- Prepares and reconciles cash reports and bank deposits; and
- Represents the City and the Department in a positive, professional and customer friendly manner.
The successful candidate for this position will have:
- Successful completion of Grade 12;
- Customer Service Training Course(s);
- Basic Bookkeeping course; and
- One year of experience providing front line customer service including experience in retail transactions.

The terms and conditions of employment for this part-time assignment are in accordance with the CUPE Collective Agreement. This is a temporary assignment anticipated to conclude in 11 months. The 2022 hourly rate of pay is $23.27 plus 16% in lieu of benefits.
