Assistant Controller - Hybrid

We're seeking a talented Assistant Controller
who is a self-starter, flexible, and action-oriented to work in a fast paced, team oriented, collaborative environment in
Concord, NC.
This position will be responsible for a variety of general ledger functions including management of the financial close process, including all revenues and expenses are properly recorded, preparing/reviewing journal entries, account reconciliations and report preparation in a multiple entity complex reporting environment.
Hours: Mon-Fri - 8 hour dayshift (flexible)
Hybrid: (2-3 days in office/ 2-3 days remote)
Responsibilities:
- Performs daily, monthly and annual accounting processes including journal entries, accounts reconciliations and general ledger transactions in compliance with company policies
- Responsible for maintaining the fixed asset system and reconciliation to the general ledger
- Responsible for GL operations, Fixed Assets, Miscellaneous Accounts Receivable activities and daily cash receipts and cash balance reporting across all entities
- Overall responsibility for consolidation of companies, region and discipline reporting
- Collaborate with the FP&A team to prepare monthly and quarterly financial reporting package for the executive team, board or directors and lenders.
- Construct relevant and timely reports on financial data analytics like actual spend against budget/forecast and monthly flash reporting, including summary feedback for variances.
- Perform technical research on accounting and reporting issues
- Oversee the month end and year end deadlines are met and identify ways to shorten the close process
- Specify and generate process improvements in accounting and reporting to improve efficiencies
- Make recommendations for changes as needed to accounting policies and procedures and internal controls
- Assist Controller with monthly and quarterly lender compliance activities
- Collaborate with external auditors to ensure successful audit results and compliance
Qualifications/Education:
- 5 years of experience in Accounting and Financial Reporting for complex reporting environment
- Ability to manage multiple tasks, changing priorities in a fast-paced environment
- Advanced in Excel skills (VLOOKUP and pivot)
- Strong accounting and analytical skills
- BS degree in Accounting-required
- Use of Sage Intacct and Paycor a plus
- CPA preferred
