What is the opportunity?
The Retail Credit and Payment Systems (RCPS) team is responsible for providing versatile cost-efficient technology solutions for RBC while maintaining high availability and resiliency. RCPS is on the journey to modernize core platforms to reimagine the end-to-end experience to drive efficiency and growth.
Within RCPS, the Retail Credit Automation team is responsible for automating, building and supporting various applications that are driving advanced insight and innovation for the Retail Credit business. Through leveraging emergent technologies and adopting DevOps the team creates an interactive experience for clients and employees of RBC.

What will you do?
- Design and develop code structures to promote reusability across many applications
- Collaborate with other developers on the team to create, enhance robust and reusable API interfaces using the latest technologies which will shape the future of Retail Credit products for RBC
- Develop and support highly scalable, high performance APIs within an Agile development team
- Ensure high code quality through automated Unit and Integration testing
- Build robust and well-tested solutions
- Bring automation to existing solutions
- Create functional prototypes for new concepts and ideas
What do you need to succeed?
Must-have
- B.S. degree in Computer Science or related technical field (e.g. EE, physics or mathematics), or equivalent practical experience.
- 3+ years experience with Java 8+ and Spring Framework (Spring Boot)
- 2+ years experience developing distributed cloud applications (Pivotal Cloud Foundry, Openshift, Docker)
- Experience working with DevOps pipelines (Git, Maven, Jenkins), continuous integration/delivery, automated testing (unit, functional, performance)
- Experience working with security gateways and protocols (JWT, Oauth2.0, SSL Certificates)
- A self-starter attitude (e.g., someone who is able to take initiative to own their project and drive it to completion)
Nice-to-have
- Experience in agile or design thinking methodologies
- Expressed interest or previous experience in Mortgages, Finance or FinTech
- An understanding of continuous integration and continuous deployment
- Experience working with BPMN tools like Camunda, Pega, or others
- Experience in BDD and TDD methodologies
