Hotel Property Groundskeeper

Part Time to Full Time Seasonal with Flexible Hours

The Holiday Inn Express Kitty Hawk – Outer Banks is hiring now for a Hotel Property Groundskeeper. We are seeking awesome associates who want to grow their career in hospitality. This position will report to the Chief Engineer.

What You Will Bring To This Role:

The Hotel Property Groundskeeper is responsible for maintaining an aesthetically-pleasing and functional outdoor space. This position may also care for indoor plants within the hotel property. This is a seasonal position with a flexible schedule.

Some of Your Responsibilities Would Be:

• Watering of plants and flowers and all landscaped areas.
• Trimming hedges and shrubs, planting and deadheading flowers
• Monitoring and maintaining plant health through weeding, fertilizing, pest control, soil conditioning and mulching as needed
• Basic knowledge of leaf blowers, trimmers, mowers, watering equipment and other grounds keeping equipment
• Ensures that all grounds keeping tools are in good working condition and stored neatly and securely in the maintenance area.
• Maintains cleanliness of outdoor landscaped areas
• Mowing or edging, fertilizing, sweeping areas around landscaped walkways
• Complies with all OSHA, ADA and other safety and security policies using PPT as needed or required.
• Offers guest assistance as needed.

Required Characteristics:

• Candidates must have good working knowledge of : basic grounds keeping / gardening and plant health.
• Preferably have one year of grounds keeping or gardening experience
• The hospitality industry requires that employees present a professional image at all times. This includes providing courteous and attentive customer service. Employees must maintain a neat, clean and well-groomed appearance. Uniform standards will be explained during orientation. This industry functions seven (7) days a week, twenty-four (24) hours a day. Regular attendance in accordance with company standards is essential for success in this position.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:

• Candidates for this position must be able to: stand and walk for a full shift; walk up and down stairs; bend, stoop and reach overhead; push and pull up to 250lbs and lift up to 75lbs.
