The Property Management Division of Highways and Public Works builds and maintains government buildings to provide safe workplaces for YG employees and public access to government services. We provide planning, design, project management, maintenance, custodial and grounds keeping services to Yukon’s buildings. We employ tradespeople, architects, engineers, labourers, administrators, and many other exciting careers.

Realty and Capital Planning Analysts play a key role in the management of almost 600 Yukon government buildings that support a wide range of public services that Yukoners, their families and their communities rely on. You will work closely with all Yukon government departments to identify and plan for long term capital needs and develop solutions that maximize the value and life span of government buildings.

Essential Qualifications

  • Completion of post-secondary education in Economics, Public or Business Administration, Commerce, Planning, Architecture, Engineering or a related discipline;
  • Experience researching, developing, and analyzing business or policy options;
  • Experience, training or certification in project management or asset management;

Candidates who have education, training, and/or experience equivalent to the essential qualifications listed above may be equally considered.

Candidates should have and may be assessed on:

  • Strong organizational, research and analytical skills;
  • Ability to manage a large workload and respond to changing needs;
  • Ability to take initiative while working independently and in a team environment; and
  • Interpersonal and communication skills, to build effective working relationships inside and outside the organization

Job Requirements

  • This position generally works in a typical office environment with the possibility of hybrid remote/office work. Occasional trips required to other locations in Whitehorse for client meetings or site visits.

    Infrequent travel to Yukon communities may be required 1-3 times per year for 1-3 days at a time. Travel is normally by automobile or occasionally aircraft.
