MACHINE OPERATOR - WOODWORKING

Due to growth within our company, we are seeking machine operators to join our production team in St. Clements (just outside of Waterloo). Our machine operators are integral members of the Artco family and facilitate a key step in the journey of bringing our clients’ dreams to life. Artco’s machine operators bring attention to detail and quality artisanship to every Artco product.

This is a full-time position with 44 hours a week. Wage commensurate with experience. Benefits are provided after the 3-month probationary period.

Artco has nearly 40 years’ experience in manufacturing case goods, upholstered furniture, and millwork for the hospitality industry across North America. Artco specializes in high-end custom furniture for luxury hotels and is part of the Chervin group of companies which also provides high-end custom residential cabinetry, residential furniture, and home décor.

WHAT YOU’LL DO

  • Safely operate modern woodworking machinery to produce accurate parts for final assembly
  • Perform programming and set-up on machines as experience allows
  • Organize machined parts to ensure efficient assembly
  • Help maintain an organized and tidy workspace to ensure smooth processes and enable your team to produce the best quality products
  • Collaborate with other team members to ensure production requirements are met safely and efficiently

WHAT YOU’LL BRING

  • 2+ year’s wood machining experience
  • Ability to read and discern blueprints
  • Ability to lift 50-75lbs
  • A general understanding of machinery and their operations
  • A keen attention to detail
  • A self-motivated desire to produce valuable work
  • An enthusiastic personality
  • A collaborative and creative nature
  • An attitude that is hardworking and eager to learn
  • A passion for the core values that are the foundation of our company
  • A commitment to punctuality and dependability
  • BONUS: Previous experience with 5 axis router machines, preferably Biesse
