Southwest Traders, Inc. is a full-service distribution company delivering fresh, frozen, and dry products to national accounts, specialty ice cream & yogurt shops, juice & smoothie bars. SWT now has full distribution centers in CA, NV & AZ.

Fast-paced Food Service Distributor is currently seeking an experienced Corporate Routing Supervisor for our Temecula, California Distribution Center. We are seeking an experienced, dependable, organized team player, preferably with a background in food distribution routing. The ability to manage multiple tasks and work under tight deadlines is a must.

RESPONSIBILITIES

The Corporate Routing Supervisor is responsible for planning, directing, and maintaining efficient transportation routing operations in collaboration with the Transportation Manager. The Corporate Routing Supervisor is responsible for all routing within all operating companies. This position requires someone who can work in a fast-paced environment and is a strong team leader, possesses excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, as well as interpersonal.

Specific Responsibilities Include:

  • Coordinates multiple shipping sites through implementation of Roadshow software to maximize efficiency of routes on a daily basis.
  • Routes all customer orders in the most efficient way for multiple shipping facilities/branches while under constant time and accuracy constraints while adhering to established procedures, protocols, and customer commitments.
  • Creates and distributes reports to internal and external customers, including completion of internal logs and reports necessary to the operation of the department.
  • Collects and evaluates customer orders downloaded throughout the day.
  • Performs manual entry of cross-dock orders into the routing software
  • Analyzes daily and/or weekly routing solutions to point out possible inefficiencies.
  • Accommodates special customer requests/needs when possible.
  • Collaborates with Transportation Manager on set-up and maintenance of skeleton route groups in Roadnet/Appian routing package.
  • Notifies appropriate parties via phone or E-mail of completed routing files which may include external customers.
  • May be required to fill in for others from time to time on different shift or day.
  • Performs weekly maintenance in routing files of new or closed customers
  • Assists in archiving of route and order information throughout the week.
  • Imports final route information into workbench.
  • Collaborates with leadership team to help create efficient use of rolling stock
  • Collaborates with Transportation Manager in scheduling of all Drivers.
  • Collaborates with Customer Service and Sales Team to solve customer issues as they arise.
  • Ensure routes are scheduled and sequenced in a timely, accurate, and efficient manner.
  • Prepare various reports on a daily/weekly basis. Reports include route change requests, sequence change requests, new customer requests, etcetera.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.

Essential Skills Include:

  • Reasoning – ability to analyze traffic route and develop changes/improvements
  • Communication – standard & technical reading and writing skills, conversational and customer service oriented speaking skills
  • Self-Management – ability to work individually and in team environment
  • Vocational – knowledge of DOT, OSHA, and smith systems (keys to driving)
  • Must have experience with a mid to large size company with volume of 60+ routes
  • Excellent experience with MS Office (Excel, PowerPoint, and Word)
  • Proficient in Routing Software
  • Ability to properly utilize routing software in the execution of the Essential Functions.
  • Ability to utilize electronic data capture devices in the conduct of the Essential Functions.

WORK EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS

  • Minimum of 3 years in a transportation/operations role.
  • Minimum of 3 years of routing experience with 1 year of the experience in a high-volume cases shipped environment required.
  • Proven Track record of experience and successes that demonstrate the ability to perform responsibilities stated above.

EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS

  • High School Diploma or equivalent required.
  • 3 years of experience in a routing role within a distribution environment (Preferably in the food industry).

WORKING CONDITIONS

  • Frequently grasp objects such as: Pens, paper, mouse, boxes, hand truck handle/control, dolly handle, steering wheel
  • Manipulate objects such as: Paper files, spread sheets, boxes of product, hand truck/dolly gear
  • Occasionally push/pull items such as: Hand Truck, Dolly, Product, Mouse
  • Occasionally sit, stand, twist, walk, kneel/bend, and stoop/squat
  • Occasionally climb/balance in and out of trucks
  • Occasionally reach above shoulder

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $65,000.00 per year
