Start Rate (Non-negotiable): $23.01 per hour
Position Range: $23.01 - $29.31 per hour
Our Corporate Records & Information Management Office is looking for a Courier to provide an efficient courier service between all GO Transit facilities and business partners.
What will I be doing?
- Picks up and delivers tickets/passes, fare payment cards , mail, shipments/packages and special payment deliveries to all GO Transit and UP Express destinations including but not limited to Field and community offices. Obtains signatures when required; picks up sales reports from stations and agents.
- Picks up lost and found articles from designated locations and delivers to Union Station.
- Ensures Metrolinx courier vehicle has been properly serviced and reports any defects to the Team Lead, Corporate Services.
- Maintains a Run Sheet of each day’s courier itinerary including trip origins, destinations, mileage and purpose routes, unusual occurrences.
- Maintains a vehicle log to record mileage, fuel and oil and submits receipts digitally for record purposes.
- Picks up and deposits cheque/cash at the GO Transit banking facility.
- Picks up and delivers all promotional material, PPE supplies and station supplies on regular basis across the organization including facilities, offices, GO stations and mobile/trailer sites.
This position may require heavy lifting and involves working Monday to Friday (40 hours per week). Preference will be given to those candidates who have similar experience.
What Skills and Qualifications Do I Need?
- Level of reading, writing and learning skills normally attained through Grade 10 education.
- Must have a valid Ontario class “G” driver’s licence or higher and must meet the corporate standard for a good driving record.
- Must be able to obtain GO Transit Equipment Operator’s Permit.
- Minimum 1 year driving experience with a class “G” driver’s licence.
- Work requires knowledge of Metropolitan Toronto and surrounding areas.
- Must be able to communicate effectively.
- Knowledge of pertinent Health and Safety Regulations.
