WHAT’S THE JOB?
Dana Hospitality is a Canadian company that specializes in providing fresh from scratch food services at our client locations. Our teams of culinary and hospitality professionals share a passion for great food and service. We celebrate culinary achievement, encourage creativity and challenge and reward our people for outstanding work. We are currently recruiting for a General Help – Delivery Driver to work at our location in North York, ON. This role will deliver food items to the different on-site locations, as well as assist in food preparation, cleaning and providing customer support in our café. The work hours are Monday to Friday from 6:30am-2:30pm, hours may change based on the customer's needs.
The Position will...
- Safely drive or use a cart, to and from locations to deliver commissary food, catering and coffee services without degrading the quality of food and supplies.
- Conduct daily, pre-trip, truck inspections.
- Assist with appointments for regular maintenance including recording information on pick-ups and deliveries, vehicle mileage, fuel costs, and any problems encountered
- Set up catering services according to Marek Hospitality standards.
- Collect deposits from locations, store safely and deliver them to the management team for verification.
- Track and make daily deposits to the bank with use of Dana Hospitality Logbook.
- Interact with catering customers to verify quality of service and products
- Provide support to the team in setting up the area for meals and serving customers
- Conduct daily inspections of work areas and keep all work areas clean and sanitary, including delivery vehicle and receiving locations
- Ensuring safe preparation of food and beverage ingredients including temperature recording
- Assist the chef in creating fresh from scratch meals and serving them to our customers
- Prepare fresh ingredients while safely using industrial knives
- Following policies and standards of Marek Hospitality and Tim Horton’s (if applicable) as well as adhere to workplace safety and food safety/sanitation regulations
- Handle cash operations for the cafe, accurately inputting customer orders and receiving payment while maintaining assigned float and properly tracking all transactions
- Performs other duties as assigned to meet business needs
WHO ARE WE LOOKING FOR?
- A valid provincial G driver's license with delivery experience, willing to travel for extended periods at a time
- A clean driver abstract
- Experience working with fresh ingredients and creating meals from scratch in a fast-paced environment
- Knowledge of basic sanitation requirements and food handling safety standards
- Good communication skills (verbal, listening, writing, presentation), as well as organizational skills
- Ability to lift 0-10 pounds from the floor to shoulder height, pull & push heavy loads & be exposed to extreme temperatures
