Shift: Full time, Days, Weekend as needed

Reporting to the Foundation’s President’s Circle and Annual Giving Manager, the Donor Relations and Events Specialist is responsible for overseeing and assisting in key components of the Foundation’s fundraising efforts by administering fundraising and stewardship events (including the annual Golf Classic that raises over $500,000), as well as assisting in the production of donor cultivation, solicitation, and stewardship-related content. This work will ensure that these activities are strategic, consistent, coordinated, and that they deepen donor relationships and advance the fundraising goals of NCH Foundation.

1. Assists in year-round identification and solicitation of prospects for fundraising event attendance and sponsorship, in-kind goods or services, and outright contributions in order to maximize net proceeds and meet annual revenue goals.

2. Manages Foundation cultivation, stewardship and fundraising events by overseeing goals, budgets, timelines and internal and external resources to ensure maximum results with lowest possible cost. Establishes roles and responsibilities for event volunteer committees, manages committee meetings and activities. Produces and distributes promotional materials related to the events. Measures, analyzes and reports event progress and results

3. Assists Director of Operations and Communications in writing and production of inspiring donor cultivation, solicitation and stewardship-related materials, including but not limited to: print and e-newsletters, content for Foundation’s website and social media channels, funding proposals, presentations and donor impact reports. Meets with donors, hospital staff and physicians to gather information and represent appeals in a clear, engaging and compelling manner.

4. Works with third-party fundraisers/event organizers to help establish timing and funding priorities for outside community-hosted events. Coordinates NCH publicity and representation.

5. Works closely with gift officers to identify, develop and implement stewardship strategies for donors, ranging from written impact reports to visible and personalized recognition.

6. In partnership with other team members, catalogues and maintains lifetime and annual giving recognition displays throughout the hospital system.

7. Performs other resource development activities as assigned by the Foundation’s President’s Circle and Annual Giving Manager, as well as the Foundation Leadership Team.

8. Adheres to all Northwest Community Hospital standards, policies, and procedures.

Qualifications


1. The level of knowledge normally obtained through the completion of a Bachelor's Degree in Marketing, Communications, Business or a related field.

2. Minimum of three years of communication and project management/event experience, preferably in a not-for-profit setting.

3. Valid Illinois driver’s license and willingness to use personal automobile for work.

4. Knowledge of and experience with CRM systems and Microsoft Office required, design software experience a plus.

5. The interpersonal and communication skills necessary to present NCH in a positive manner to the public, current and potential donors, and hospital personnel.

6. The ability to work with various groups of hospital personnel, volunteers and donors acting as the primary motivator for specific fundraising and stewardship activities and goals.

7. The organizational skills necessary to independently manage the development and implementation of multiple programs and assignments in a detailed, accurate and timely manner.

8. The ability to maintain confidential information.

9. The written and analytical skills necessary to create, research, and write materials to effectively educate, motivate, solicit and acknowledge donors.

10. The mathematical skills necessary to prepare budgets and project revenues.

11. Ability to work independently without close oversight, but also a team player who will productively engage with others at varying levels of internal and external ity.

12. Demonstrates energy and passion for NCH’s mission to improve the health of the communities we serve and to meet individuals’ healthcare needs.



PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
1. Requires light physical effort and may require periodic standing or walking and occasional lifting or moving of materials of moderate or average weight; rarely lifting or moving heavy weight material.
WORKING CONDITIONS:
1. Good working conditions. Seldom exposed to disagreeable working conditions or hazards, such as inclement weather during outdoor events. Probability of injury is remote. Requires some off site travel with occasional evening or weekend hours/events.
