The Sexsmith Child Development is a well-respected licensed and accredited childcare centre located between Robert W Zahara Elementary School and Sexsmith Secondary School in Sexsmith Alberta. We have been operating for more than 11+ years and are dedicated to providing quality child care, interactive learning and memorable experiences.

We are seeking a highly motivated educator to inspire and be part of a great team. Are you an Educator with either a Bachelors of Education and/or Early Childhood Educator at a Child Development Supervisor, worker or assistant level we want you to join our friendly, vibrant and dynamic team environment.

Skills required:

• An approved Early Childhood qualification or a Bachelor of Education (Early Childhood)
• Experience working in a childcare setting
• Fantastic organizational and teamwork skills
• Sound written and verbal communication skills
• A good level of computer literacy
• Current First Aid and CPR
• Criminal Record Check with Vulnerable Sectors Search and Child Intervention Check
• A good understanding of learning through play

Responsibilities shall include:

• Develop and deliver curriculum founded on the centre’s philosophies whilst following childcare rules, regulations and accreditation standards.
• Create positive learning environments including resources based on child-directed learning
• Develop strategies to guide positive Children’s behaviour
• Build good, open communication with children, families and staff
• Observe and record children’s growth, development and behaviour
• Ensure the learning environment is clean, hygienic and safe
• Help develop teaching goals for the centre and its teachers
• Undertake administrative tasks as required
