We are looking for an Event Production Coordinator

As an Event Production Coordinator, you will be responsible for ensuring event production and management for CMH and CWM; coordinating information, logistics and human resources needs for the production of CMH and CWM internal and external events; ensuring the efficacy, performance and quality of CMH and CWM events; assisting the Manager, Event Production, in Production Service administration and operations as well as managing certain services/suppliers that are Production Service’s responsibility.

You have at least three (3) years of relevant and recent experience in:

  • Event production and logistics;
  • Supervision of teams (of employees, contract workers and volunteers) in an event environment;
  • Stagecraft, stage management, room or site management and coordination for major events;
  • Scriptwriting, production schedules and cue sheets for shows;
  • Delivery of instructions to third-party contractors;
  • Direction of rehearsals, the carrying-out of tests, recordings and performances;
  • Management of administrative functions such as budget planning, cost and expenditure management, work planning, housekeeping schedule, invoicing, production of reports and estimates for clients;
  • Computer systems and word processing software (Word), spreadsheet program (Excel), drawing software (Visio), data base (Access) and production calendar.

Knowledge of:

  • CMH and CWM mandate, programs and services;
  • Principles of production management in the context of a government’s cultural institution;
  • Planning, organization, coordination and production of a multitude of different events in the arts, culture, and banquets;
  • Management of multidisciplinary teams’ roles and tasks related to event production (e.g. stage manager, production manager, artistic director, technical director, technicians, ushers, guides, security, etc.);
  • Lighting, public address equipment and audio-visual equipment for shows and banquets;
  • Training and leadership of employees, contract workers and volunteers;

Education: College degree in the fields of performing arts and event production or an equivalent combination of education and experience.

Compensation: $67,730 to $83,820
Status: Permanent Full-time Position (# 9929)

Location: 100, Laurier Street, Gatineau, Quebec
