The Role:
Job Type: Part-Time, Permanent
Hours: 24 - 40 hrs/week
Shift: Days/ Afternoon
Days: Saturday and Sunday
Must be available for training during weekdays for 8 weeks.
Pay Rate: $24.62/hr
Location: 1850 Ellice Ave, Winnipeg
The Filler Operator position will be responsible for monitoring Filler machines, adding materials and lubrication, and cleaning jams as necessary for smooth operation and testing tops to ensure proper seal. Responsibilities also include documenting down time and hourly production, taste tests to verify product quality, and informing maintenance when equipment needs attention. Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
- Operators run the line
- Responsible for ensuring machine is running efficiently
- Perform regular quality checks & production needs are met in timely manner
- Heavy lifting required
- Operating computer-based machinery
- Handling of stressful situations in a fast-paced environment
- Making quick decisions and being able to trouble-shoot problems as they arise
- Employees are also required to be on their feet for long periods of time and to grip and grasp different objects such as boxes, bags of product and pallet boards
- Self-motivated, well organized, able to work well with others and under minimal or no supervision
- Successful candidates must have Grade 12 (or equivalent)
- Previous forklift operator experience is an asset
- Flexible to work all shifts and workweeks.
- The position requires excellent physical coordination and conditioning
- Good speaking and writing skills
