Position Summary/Position

This position will assist in all areas related to regulatory and statutory filings including (but not limited to) the preparation and timely completion of external filings, audit inquiries, and internal and external inquiries. This position will also participate in activities, special projects, and major initiatives outside of regulatory and statutory filings including but not limited to monthly close activities, balance sheet reconciliations, and other reporting analysis.

Major Functions (Duties and Responsibilities)

1. Prepare various schedules for regulatory/statutory financial reporting (Orange Blank, MLRs etc.) and other ad-hoc analysis.
2. Responsible for timely completion of regulatory reporting schedules including maintenance of work-papers in an organized, accurate and up-to-date manner together with relevant data collected from various internal departments.
3. Assist in the ongoing monitoring and interpretation of issuance and/or changes to federal and state guidelines that impact regulatory reporting.
4. Assist in developing, analyzing, summarizing and distribution of ad-hoc reports using SQL programming, Excel, and other reporting software.
5. Support data requests and assist in developing responses for internal and external inquiries.
6. Able to perform and understand variance analysis, month end close process and balance sheet reconciliations.
7. Provide support in various special projects or major departmental initiatives.
8. Maintain ongoing collaboration with various internal departments such as Information Technology and Healthcare Informatics departments to gather data/information required for reporting deliverables.

Experience Qualifications

Minimum of three (3) years corporate accounting or related experience. Experience in developing complex reports using financial reporting software. Experience working with Oracle and Hyperion or another ERP system. Experience in analyzing, manipulating, and pulling large data sets.

Preferred Experience

Experience in statutory reporting a plus. Access, Word, PowerPoint, and SQL experience a plus. Managed Care or related industry experience preferred.

Education Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance or a related field from an accredited institution required.

Knowledge Requirement

Strong understanding of accounting/financial principles and methodologies. Strong knowledge and demonstrative proficiency utilizing Microsoft Excel. Preferred knowledge in healthcare industry and regulatory filings.

Skills Requirement

Possess strong analytical skills. Ability to pull, decipher, and navigate large data set for regulatory filings and special projects. Cross-train and back up other areas of the department. Intermediate to advance skill level in Excel. Proficiency with Oracle Hyperion and Fusion ERP Systems. Familiar with SQL.

A reasonable salary expectation is between $70,002.40-$89,261.33, based upon experience and internal equity.
