Your LEARNING MINDSET, AGILITY and ability to think on your feet enables you to quickly learn golf terminology and the importance of each playable areas such as green, tees fairway, bunker. You enthusiastically develop proficiencies with all mowing equipment while gaining thorough knowledge in the grooming practices for fine fescue.

You COMMUNICATE clearly with the intent to connect and to act in a professional manner with guests, associates and suppliers at all times.

EXECUTIONAL EXCELLENCE

Under the direction of the Superintendent and Assistant Superintendent you will:

  • Implement world-class presentation of daily course set up and golf course conditions are achieved prior to the first tee time each day.
  • Ensure a safe, clean and productive work environment at all times.
  • Safely operate heavy duty and maintenance equipment.
  • Accurately complete equipment daily check in records.
  • Perform irrigation, fertilizer and product applications while displaying responsible environmental protection practices.
  • Use proper PPE when operating equipment for self and others.
  • Operate gasoline, diesel and electric utility vehicles and other maintenance equipment in a safe, non-destructive manner.
  • Stage equipment and resources required by other team members pre-shift.
  • Identify unsafe areas and activities, reports hazards immediately.
  • Assisting with reel maintenance as required and participating in adjusting and tracking mowing heights, grinding and set up.


Qualifications and Experience

  • Golf course maintenance experience or enrolled in a turf management program or related field. outdoors and operate vehicles and equipment for several hours in varying environmental conditions such as heat, cold, rain, snow and wind.
  • The ability to obtain a Nova Scotia pesticide applicator license within 90 days of employment.
  • Knowledge of Workplace Hazardous Information System (WHIMIS).
  • Displays a self-sacrifice and team-orientated attitude with a willingness to listen and present ideas.
  • Displays a strong knowledge and understanding of the golf course management process.


Physical Demands

  • Work outdoors and operate vehicles and equipment for several hours in varying environmental conditions such as heat, cold, rain, snow and wind.
  • Ability to spend long hours moving around, walking, sitting, standing, kneeling, reaching, shoveling and/or raking.
  • Exerting up to 100 pounds of force occasionally, and/or up to 25 pounds of force frequently or constantly lift, carry, push, or otherwise move objects.
  • Ability to work with and around motorized equipment movement hazards, and misdirected golf balls.
  • Ability to work with and around pesticides, fertilizers, and registered products and safely follow product labels.
