Our Human Resource Associate Position

We are currently seeking a Human Resource Associate to join our team. This is a full-time position based out of Dieppe, New Brunswick where you will work directly with our clients and our Senior Strategist, Charline Hebert.


Current Position Responsibilities:

  • Oversee implementation of client policies that align with their company mission and core values.
  • Oversee client company compensation and benefits plans and manage relationships with relevant vendors and other service providers.
  • Provide resources and guidance to managers and employees with regards to performance management, learning, and professional development.
  • Gather and maintain relevant data to monitor and report on key HR metrics.
  • Develop and monitor HR initiatives.
  • Maintain HR practices that comply with both applicable labour regulations and internal policies & procedures, including timely addressing of employee requests and grievances.
  • Oversee recruitment and hiring of new employees.
  • Develop onboarding and off-boarding processes.
  • Develop HR documentation that is current to meet our client’s company requirements such as job descriptions, employee handbook, policy and procedures.
  • Develop employee recognition and social programs to increase employee engagement.
  • Support/Organize Employee Events.
  • Contribute to a positive and harassment-free working environment that provides fair and equitable treatment for our employees.
  • Ensure all local policies and procedures are compliance with Canadian national and provincial regulations.

Growth Opportunities:

  • Work with Ascend HR clients to set objectives and priorities in their Human Resource functions.
  • Provide leadership and HR coaching, advisory and training to Executives and Leadership team.
  • Manage the hiring of foreign workers.
  • Create and facilitate training programs.

Job requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in Human Resources management required or equivalent experience.
  • 5 years of experience in Human Resources
  • Strong knowledge of current employee right, law and regulations relevant to the position and, in particular, concerning legal requirements with regard to employment and privacy.
  • Bilingual (French and English)
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office suite
  • Superior interpersonal communication skills both verbal and written.
  • Effective communication skills with individuals at all levels of the organization
  • Exceptional attention to detail, and the ability to set priorities, manage time efficiently, and work with a minimum of supervision
  • Ability to identify developmental needs of client employees and to provide coaching, mentoring, and other assistance
  • Ability to ensure that confidentiality is adhered to at all times.
