Job description

As a Junior Bookkeeper, working under the direction of the company owner, you will be assigned to clients and be responsible for the accurate bookkeeping of their business. You must be highly dependable with a strong work ethic and respectful of client confidentiality.

Responsibilities include:

• Keeping financial records and establishing, maintaining, and balancing various accounts using Quickbooks Online
• Categorizing of bank transactions and expenses
• Posting journal entries and reconciling accounts, preparing trial balance of books, maintaining general ledgers, and preparing financial statements
• Administering payroll using Quickbooks Payroll
• Completing and submitting tax remittance forms, workers' compensation forms, pension contribution forms and other government documents on behalf of clients
• Preparing tax returns and perform other personal bookkeeping services
• Prepare other statistical, financial, and accounting reports.

Applications must have a highschool diploma. Preference for post-secondary education (in progress or graduated) with a focus on business, management, accounting, finance and/or bookkeeping. A certificate in bookkeeping is desired and a Quickbooks Online Certification is preferred.

Schedule:

• Flexible
• Monday to Friday
• Weekend work is an option if better for your schedule

Experience:

• Bookkeeping: 1 year (but willing to train)

Work Location:

• Primarily Virtual
• Must have a vehicle and be able to attend client location's when required in Thunder Bay and Northern Ontario area.

Job Type: Part-time

Salary: $18.00-$20.00 per hour
