As a Junior Data Analyst at Octo, you will support efforts to transform Octo by leveraging data and analytics to support strategic and tactical business decisions. This is an opportunity for an enthusiastic and analytical professional that wants to help shape the business intelligence function. The Data and Analytics Technical Associate will collaborate with team members to develop analysis plans, create and clean analytical data sets, create ad-hoc or standard data reports, create and modify complex reports, develop statistical analyses, machine learning algorithms and data visualizations. They will possess the ability to communicate regarding analytics, have experience in gathering and compiling information for analysis based on discussion with operational staff. They must be able to interact with customers, team members and other stakeholders in a professional manner.

Key Responsibilities...

• Gather business intelligence requirements from stakeholders and translate them into a meaningful BI products
• Work collaboratively with team members to design and build business intelligence products to be shared across various departments within the company
• Create and clean analytical data sets
• Create or modify ad-hoc or standard data reports
• Generate dashboards with quick/context/global filters, parameters and calculated fields
• Integrate and prepare large, varied datasets for analysis
• Assume an active role in quality assurance (QA) and user acceptance testing (UAT) for reporting solutions by providing unit/integration testing support, attending team meetings and preparing documentation
• Help end users navigate data sets and reporting to solve business problems

In order to be successful in this position, we expect you to have the following skills and experience:

• Intermediate experience with Microsoft Office suite required, including MS Project and SharePoint.
• Familiarity with reporting and visualization tools such as Power BI, Tableau, etc.
• Excellent analytical skills, organizational abilities and problem-solving skills.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Strong aptitude to learn and adapt to new technology.
• Ability to adapt well to diverse environments.
• Ability to communicate clearly with all levels in an organization.
• Detail oriented with strong analytical, organizational, and time management skills.

Desired / Preferred Qualifications:

• Power BI or Power Query Experience
• Some experience in programming languages like SQL, Oracle, R, MATLAB, and Python
• Demonstrated experience in the use of Scrum and Agile methodology and processes.

Years of Experience: 2+ years of recent professional experience in Data Analysis.

Education: Bachelor’s Degree in Statistics, Computer Science, Engineering or other analytical discipline required

Location: Remote within the United States. Must have reliable internet service that allows for effective telecommuting.
