CERTIFIED MEDICAL ASSISTANT or LICENSE PRACTICAL NURSES

Central Illinois Urgent Care in Forsyth is looking to hire CMAs and/or LPNs for PRN positions to help when coverage is needed for PTO, Vacation Days, and Maternity Leaves. Openings for days in the week and/or weekends

Hours of operations: Monday through Friday - 8 am to 8 pm and Saturday and Sunday - 10 am to 6 pm.

JOB DESCRIPTION: To provide compassionate and excellent patient care by performing courteous, efficient and accurate services. In this role you will accompany patients and their secondary guests through the entire experience to ensure an excellent clinical experience, reduce treatment times and maximize the patient experience.

Maintains safe and clean working environment by complying with procedures, rules, and regulations.

Gains patient cooperation by reducing anxieties; providing explanations of treatment; answering questions.
Ensure examination and treatment rooms are clean and properly maintained with medical supplies.
Room patients promptly following registration.
Prepare patients for examination and treatment.
Responsible for documenting chief complaint, medical condition, temperature, pulse, B/P O2, weight, height, pain level; last menses; allergic reactions to medications, list of current medications, social history, family history of disease, immunizations up to date, and designated pharmacy.
Consult provider with history. Responsible for documenting chief complaints and vitals into EMR prior to provider’s assessment.
Perform duties as directed by the provider.
Prep patients for minor surgeries and assist the provider.
Apply orthopedic splints and wound dressings.
Perform all point of care tests ordered by the provider including; strep, influenza, COVID-19, Mononucleosis and RSV swabs and urinalysis testing.
Perform subcutaneous, intradermal and intramuscular injections ordered by provider.
Perform phlebotomy for collection of serum laboratory specimens.
Perform nebulizer treatments and EKGs ordered by provider.
Dispense and document pre-packaged medications and other treatment modalities.
Perform non-DOT and DOT drug collections according to policy and procedures.
Perform DOT examinations on vision, color, hearing, and urine according to regulations.
Obtained required information for School and Sport Examinations under ISHA and IESA.
Perform TB test (one step and/or two steps) for employers/employees
Schedule and coordinate necessary records for patients.
Instruct and educate patients before discharge if applicable.
Maintain confidentiality under HIPAA within the clinic area and with patient/staff conversations behind closed doors.
Maintain clean, professional working/treatment areas.

Full Time With Benefits
Pay Range - $18 - $20

Urgent Care and/or Emergency Room Experience a plus

Certification of Medical Assistant - Active and Current

Pay: $19.00 - $22.00 per hour
