Mammography Technologist

New York Imaging provides a comprehensive range of cutting-edge diagnostic imaging services from state-of-the-art modalities at various institutions. Our patient-oriented imaging center promotes a positive experience. We are conveniently located throughout Long Island: in Lake Success and Port Jefferson Station, with affiliated locations in Riverhead, Setauket, and Southampton.

This position is for a supervisory role, in our new state of the art diagnostic breast imaging facility. Looking for a motivated mammography technologist to perform radiographic diagnostic imaging procedures to assist physicians in the diagnosis of disease and injuries. Performs technological functions to ensure optimal diagnostic quality of patient care utilizing efficient and safe processes.

In this role, you will:

• Perform routine and diagnostic mammography procedures.
• Assist with stereotactic biopsies.
• Track inventory and order supplies.
• Exhibit a high degree of tact, courtesy, and poise, explaining procedures to patients to reduce anxieties and obtain patient cooperation.
• Prepare and position patients for diagnostic imaging procedures.
• Adjust equipment controls to set exposure factors and produce images of proper detail, density, and accuracy.
• Process images and reviews for proper identification and quality control.
• Practice radiation protection techniques to minimize radiation to patients and staff.
• Orient and train new hires.
• Perform other related duties as necessary.

We require:

• Minimum of one year continuous experience in Mammography.
• Licensed from American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT).
• Excellent assessment, communication and organizational skills.
• Good computer knowledge.
• Availability to work daytime weekday hours. 4 Ten hour shifts available.
• Bilingual, English/Spanish a plus.

Salary up to $65 per hour.
