The Richmond Flying Squirrels are looking for enthusiastic and energetic performers to join our team of part-time mascots and entertain fans during home games and numerous community events. JOB SUMMARY:
The Richmond Flying Squirrels are looking for enthusiastic and energetic performers to join our team of part-time mascots and entertain fans during home games and numerous community events. Mascot performers are brand ambassadors who play an integral role in representing and facilitating family FUNN!
FUNN ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
- Perform at home games and other non-game events, as needed
- Create skits and routines to entertain fans, demonstrating high levels of creativity and innovation and work closely with game Director of Entertainment to ensure implementation is successful
- Flexibility to serve as a mascot handler when not scheduled to perform in costume
- Maintain and care for all mascot costumes as well as props and equipment
- All other duties as assigned
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Reliable transportation and a valid driver's license with clean driving record
- Previous mascot experience preferred
- Previous performance (dancing/acting) experience preferred
- Flexibility to work long hours including nights, weekends and holidays as required
- Fan-friendly and outgoing
- Must work well with children and staff members
- Must be punctual and arrive at all schedule appearances on time and prepared to perform
- Creative, ambitious, energetic personality with the ability to motivate others
- Ideal candidate should be in good physical condition and highly energetic
PHYSICAL DEMANDS & WORKING ENVIRONMENT:
- Good physical condition and able to withstand the demands of performing in a costume in all-weather elements
- Animation skills as a mascot in non-speaking character
- Team player who works well with full and part time staff members
- Candidates should be between 5’8” and 6’ tall or between 5’2” and 5’7”
