Medical Office Assistant
Job description
- The successful candidate will be working with Dr. Avi Sarker, who will be a new Gastroenterologist to the Kitchener/Waterloo area.
- We are in search of a positive, dynamic individual to provide administrative office support to a busy gastroenterology practice. The ideal candidate will work with other office staff and physicians for optimal patient care and will possess the following:
- Proficiency in computer scheduling and software with prior experience with EMR.
- Experience in a medical office setting with knowledge of medical terminology.
- Excellent time management skills.
- The ability to prioritize workload and function independently in a high volume, fast-paced medical practice.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, telephone communication skills, public relation skills, and customer service skills.
- Exceptional patient management skills with a high degree of professionalism and integrity.
- Written and spoken competence in the English language.
- Be reliable and self-motivated.
- Demonstrate confidentiality and diplomacy.
- Excellent attention to detail.
Responsibilities include:
- Processing referrals and booking appointments.
- Greeting and checking in patients.
- Answering patient questions and triaging patient concerns.
- Creating and maintaining confidential patient records in the EMR software.
- Liaising with pharmaceutical representatives.
- Other duties as assigned.
Please note: Compensation is commensurate with experience and will be discussed during the interview process.
Job Types: Full-time, Permanent
Salary: $20.00-$25.00 per hour
