Certified Pharmacy Technician
Job Overview:
Pharmacy Technician will perform following duties:
- Represent the pharmacy as a registered pharmacy technician by increasing customer interaction/ confidence and be loyal to the pharmacy by providing consistent operating conditions, courteous and prompt service and a friendly atmosphere.
- Support Pharmacist for filling prescriptions, Taking Stock, Practice policy and procedure of the pharmacy while assisting customer checkout while under the Pharmacist Supervision.
Primary Responsibilities:
- Achieve accuracy in all tasks including all types of Data Entry, Operating POS & Maintaining Inventory Stock.
- Repack and Consolidate supply Overstock. Vials, Caps, Bottles, Bingo Cards and other packaging materials for Retail customers and Long term care facilities.
- Organize prescriptions records, Maintain all product labels for regular prescriptions and long term care & Compounding as well.
- Greet customers as they communicate with pharmacy in person or on the phone (or any other way). Keep the pharmacy clean, orderly and free from safety hazards.
- Operate Pharmacy POS system efficiently and perform Price Checks for customers, operate Front of the Counter POS for processing Cash, Check , Visa and MasterCard Payments by checking out customers by collecting right amount of money for the merchandise sold Rx (Prescription) or OTC.
- Help Pharmacist and Coworkers in the preparation of prescriptions including entering patient information (Demographics, allergies, insurance info and Diagnosis history), pull stock for particular prescriptions assigned to fill, pouring, counting, restocking, pack, and label & price the prescriptions.
- Pharmacy Technician should be able to work on Prior Authorizations, Covermymeds, and Manufacturer’s Discounts, receive daily shipments of medications from vendors and warehouse and accurately report medications in the POS system. Assist pharmacist in the preparation, reconciliation and billing of third party insurance claims and re-billing of rejected third party claims and assist with providing universal claim form for compound medications.
- Order, receive, rotate and store product to assure quality controls. Reconcile daily merchandise orders, add chemicals to inventory accurately, order required checmicals for compounding.
- Maintain Pharmacy and Customer Confidentiality in compliance of Federal HIPPA Regulations.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Successfully complete the Pharmacy Technician Certification Board ( PTCB) exam.
- Should be Proficient in read, write & Speak English (Bilingual Preferred). And should be authorized to work in USA.
- Should be able to complete pre-employment drug testing and background check if asked.
- Possess good telephone skills and complete cashier training. Should be able to understand and operate the POS in the pharmacy ( or fast learner) and exercise good attention to detail and accuracy.
Expected Salary: $11 - $18
Experience: 0-1 years
Work Days: Monday – Friday (Saturday half day)
Work Times: 9 AM – 6 PM Typically
Job Types: Full-time, Part-time
Pay: $12.00 - $18.00 per hour
