Welcome to the Porter Pilot Early Connection Program. We invite Pilots with 200 hours or more to join our growing recruitment pool. Porter understands it’s a difficult path to navigate your career in aviation. The purpose of this program is to establish an early connection with you as you develop your aviation portfolio to meet our minimum hiring requirements (1000 hours).
To be a part of this program we ask as that you complete the application form below. Once that has been completed we will reach out to you on a quarterly basis. At this time we will invite you to update your profile and celebrate because “you are on your way!”
Your future job description will be:
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Ensures the safe operation of the aircraft
- Actively participates in Porter’s Safety Management System (SMS) including, reporting hazards and incidents encountered in daily operations; understand, comply and promote the Company Safety Policy
- Any other duties as assigned
- Concern for Safety: Identifying hazardous or potentially hazardous situations and taking appropriate action to maintain a safe environment for self and others.
- Teamwork: Working collaboratively with others to achieve organizational goals.
- Passenger/Customer Service: Providing service excellence to internal and/or external customers (passengers).
- Initiative: Dealing with situations and issues proactively and persistently, seizing opportunities that arise.
- Results Focus: Focusing efforts on achieving high-quality results consistent with the organization’s standards.
- Fostering Communication: Listening and communicating openly, honestly, and respectfully with different audiences, promoting dialogue and building consensus.
- Airline Transport Pilot License (Transport Canada) or Integrated Airline Transport Pilot License or Initial Aeroplane Type Rating (IATRA)
- Category I Medical
- Current Instrument Rating
- Minimum 200 hours total time to establish a profile. (Minimum 1000 hours to apply for a First Officer opportunity)
- Aviation College or University Degree is an asset
