Job Title: Quality Assurance Analyst
Reports to: Maintenance Quality Assurance Manager
Department: Quality Assurance
Location: Ypsilanti, MI
SUMMARY:
Responsible for performing continuing analysis and surveillance for all audits performed by the Kalitta Quality Assurance Department. Reports directly to the Quality Assurance Manager.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Assist in maintaining internal, maintenance provider, de-ice vendor, and fuel provider audit files.
- Assist in reviewing and verifying Maintenance Provider FAA Air Agency Certificates and Operations Specifications.
- Assist in verifying expiration dates of Foreign Maintenance Providers’ FAA Air Agency Certificates and Operations Specifications to ensure currency.
- Assist in updating Maintenance Provider status in company databases and tracking when next audit is due.
- Act as the focal point for tracking the progress of all Corrective Action Plans. Report Corrective Action Plans to the Reliability Steering Group as key milestones are achieved.
- Monitor repeat discrepancies and track further to effectively identify and control repeat write-ups.
- Identify any changes which will further the continuous improvement of departmental processes.
- Be familiar with all phases of data analysis for which the QA Analyst has responsibility.
- Assist in preparing reports, presentations, and statistical data required monthly to be included in the Quality Assurance Monthly CAS reports.
- Perform any other duties assigned by the Quality Assurance Manager or Assistant Director of Quality Control.
SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES:
- This job has no supervisory responsibilities at this time.
QUALIFICATIONS/EXPERIENCE:
- Familiarity with CASS or reliability analysis programs for a 14 CFR Part 121 air carrier
- Experience with Root Cause Analysis corrective action planning preferred.
- Self-motivated and able to work with minimal supervision.
- Work experience, preferably in 14 CFR Part 121 (air carrier) and Part 145 (repair station) operations; training, quality control/assurance, maintenance, safety management systems (SMS) or a combination thereof.
- Previous experience in aviation maintenance auditing is highly desired.
- Proficient verbal, written, and presentation communications skills.
- Strong work ethic, ability to work in a fast-paced environment and a positive attitude toward teamwork.
- Willingness to assist Directors, Managers, and other staff with the highest level of professionalism.
- Ability to handle numerous projects at one time and meet deadlines.
TRAVEL:
- Occasional travel to conduct audits and attend training.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS:
- Standing, walking, sitting and the utilization of stairs will be required. May need to lift up to 50 pounds on occasion.
WORK ENVIORNMENT:
- The employee will conduct audit in offices, aircraft maintenance facilities, aircraft component back-shops, and flight line area. Also will work at a computer terminal, and answer telephone.
