Job description
Overview:
Responsible for performing standardized quality control checks on our company products to ensure they meet the required legal and company standards for safety and quality. You may also be required to maintain/report on calibrated test equipment, prepare test data, and identify areas for quality control improvement.
Principal Accountabilities:
- Know, understand and adhere to MSSC Quality, Safety and Environmental policies
- Developing and maintaining company inspection reports.
- Inspecting goods or products according to quality, customer and safety standards.
- Ensuring goods and products comply with company standards as well customer requirements.
- Perform Audits on the plant floor as needed (LPA, Product Audits etc).
- Reporting quality anomalies to the supervisor.
- Collating test data and drafting quality reports.
- Work with Supervisors and 3rd Party support services on Containment activities (Customer and Supplier)
- Issue Quality Alerts, post and train as needed
- Able to lift heavy assemblies in a hot environment
- 5S – maintains and promotes good housekeeping
Qualifications:
+ High school diploma or GED.
+ 2-5 years’ experience working within the automotive field as a Quality Inspector or Quality Technician.
+ Thorough understanding of automotive quality requirements (IATF 16949).
+ Experience working with assembly and/or manufacturing processes.
+ Excellent communication skills (both written and oral).
+ Experience as a facilitator of team oriented problem solving.
+ Able to interpret blueprints with an understanding of GD & T.
+ SPC knowledge would be an asset
+ Able to use measuring equipment like Verniers, Micrometers, Dial indicators.
+ Support all Management staff.
+ High-level of visual awareness
+ Advanced organizational skills
+ Ability to work alone with minimal supervision in a multi shift environment
