Job description

Seeking friendly, high-energy multi-taskers who enjoy the restaurant environment, interacting with customers and preparing and working with food. This position requires moving back and forth between the front and back of house.

Preference given to local candidates who have finished their schooling and are looking for steady full-time or part-time work.

DAYS & HOURS

Must be able to work every day Tuesday to Saturday, inclusive between 10 am and 9:30 pm. Must have flexibility to work both day and evening shifts.

MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES

· operate Point of Sale system: accurately enter orders and process payments

· memorize menu and help customers with order options; upsell; promote new menu items

· assemble and bag orders

· take phone orders and process online delivery orders

· prepare and cook some items from scratch, including grilling over live fire

· perform inventory checks and ensure there is sufficient quantity at all times

· maintain cleanliness and health and safety standards at fall times

· Evening Shift also performs closing tasks such as food removal/storage, dishwashing, trash removal, etc.

QUALIFICATIONS

· punctual, reliable, trustworthy

· friendly, positive attitude; comfortable dealing with the public

· excellent English

· able to multi-task and work under time pressures without becoming overwhelmed

· attention to detail; good organizational skills and memory

· able to take direction and initiative and perform tasks quickly and accurately

· able to work well independently and with others

· able to walk, stand in place and perform repetitive manual tasks for extended periods

· able to lift, move and carry items up to 50 lbs., including up and down a flight of stairs

· open to learning and taking on new responsibilities

ASSETS

· ability to cook Caribbean dishes

· live fire grilling experience

· current food handler’s certification

Salary: From $15.50 per hour
