Barber Collins security is looking for a full time Security Guard to work during the week and weekends in Waterloo.

Shifts*

*Shifts have a mandatory 2-week rotation

Week 1 (40 hours):

Friday midnight to Saturday 8 am

Sunday and Monday 8 pm to 8 am

Wednesday midnight to Thursday 8 am

Week 2 (40 hours):

Sunday midnight to Monday 8 am

Monday midnight to Tuesday 8 am

Tuesday midnight to Wednesday 8 am

Wednesday midnight to Thursday 8 am

Thursday midnight to Friday 8 am

Responsibilities:

• Protect company’s property and staff by maintaining a safe and secure environment.
• Take accurate notes of unusual occurrences.
• Monitor and control access at building entrances and vehicle gates. As well as conducting regular foot patrols of approximately 30 to 45 minutes long.
• Watch alarm systems or video cameras and operate detecting/emergency equipment.
• Access control for the facility/area.
• Ensuring that the facility’s safety and emergency procedures are followed in response to site emergencies.
• Demonstrating judgement, common sense, and decision-making ability, particularly when required to take charge and direct others in emergencies or other incidents.

Skills:

• Proven work experience as a security guard or relevant position.
• Trained Security Guard with a diploma in a related field.
• Ability to operate detecting systems and emergency equipment.
• Excellent knowledge of public safety and security procedures/protocols.
• Surveillance skills and detail orientation.
• Integrity and professionalism.
• Ability to operate security equipment/systems, computers, radios, phones.
• Meticulous record keeping, report writing, observation skills.
