Location

The ArcX office headquarters is located in Markham, Ontario. ArcX recognizes that on-site collaboration provides the best opportunity for learning, however to maintain a safer work environment and encourage work-life balance, we have implemented a hybrid model for those who want to and can work remotely up to 2 days a week. Depending on public health recommendation, employees may be encouraged to work remotely more often.

Senior Application Developer

In this role you will take a lead role in the applications team writing web applications that are typically based on an ArcX designed platform and are deployed internally to various industrial clients to support manufacturing. The application has multiple parts including a JavaScript server-side API that communicates with an event-based document database, an administrative front-end, and HTML device interfaces that control ArcX industrial hardware. Experience with JavaScript (both server and client), HTML, CSS, client frameworks (like Angular) and database access is a must.

You will report to the applications manager and are expected to interface with the development team to accomplish tasks such as defining and implementing new features, reproducing and fixing reported issues, remotely supporting clients with deployment/configuration/maintenance, and developer-level testing. Previous experience with a manufacturing execution system is a strong asset.

Skills a successful candidate has:

• JavaScript development for server-side and client-side
• UX design and implementation using web technologies
• Document based databases
• Docker
• Automated builds (e.g. Jenkins)
• Source control and code review
• Must have 5+ years experience as a Senior Application Developer

Skills considered an asset:

• Interfacing with industrial hardware & embedded devices
• Experience designing MES applications
