We at Leggett & Platt Automotive are looking for a Shift Manager to join our growing Automotive Team in Windsor, ON. We are a multi-billion-dollar globally diversified company that designs and manufactures various engineered components and products. Our growing automotive business unit, which exceeds one billion dollars in sales, is comprised of four main product segments with operations on three continents. Our customers include OEM and Tier 1 automotive companies.

In this role, you will report to the Manufacturing Manager and will be responsible for supervising the production staff and ensuring product is built in the right time, quantity, and quality. If you are looking for a challenging, rewarding opportunity to showcase your expertise, we want you!

What will you be doing?

· Ensures smooth and safe operations and is the first contact person in case of technical issues in the manufacturing area.

· Continuously develop the subordinates in close cooperation with the Manufacturing Coach.

· Ensure an efficient fulfillment of the planned orders by the defined deadline.

· Responsible for the analysis of deviation in the manufacturing process compared to the standard and propose measures to reach manufacturing targets (OEE, HC).

· Responsible for the availability of qualified headcount to ensure the targeted quality delivery level.

· Responsible for the observance of all defined standards in regard to EHS, legal, and manufacturing compliance (work time, breaks, etc.).

· Support the continuous improvement of all manufacturing process with the support of lean management tools.

· First level support for technical issues on the manufacturing equipment.

· Leading a safety-first approach maintaining a zero-accident culture. Ensures and monitors work, accident prevention, and safe working environment across the business.

· Fulfill assigned primary, secondary, and/or tertiary deputy/back-up roles as required on occasion by the business.

We’re looking for someone with:

· Technically Trained (Machine Building, Electromechanics, Mechatronics, or the like)

· Minimum of 5 years experience in the Manufacturing area

· Strong interpersonal, communication and supervisory/leadership skills

· Automotive Experience

· Experience with JIT production
