Job description

Seeking multiple reliable and qualified small tractor operators to join our team of experienced winter maintenance professionals. Reporting to one of the City of Toronto’s Winter Maintenance Depots, the selected candidates will be responsible for operating tractors with plow blades and salt spreaders for the purposes of sidewalk plowing, salting & snow removal operations. Attention to detail, ability to follow direction and ability to complete assigned tasks with safety as the highest priority are considered key qualifications for these positions.

Several positions are available for “Call-in” operators (to be available through the duration of the contract to report to your assigned Winter Maintenance Depot during winter events). Those selected for these “Call-in” positions must be available to show up to the Depot, ready to work within 2 hours of notification. Operators will be compensated by a combination of monthly “standby payments” and an hourly rate for work during sidewalk snow clearing operations. Operators selected for “call-in” positions may be able to work other jobs providing they are available to work when called in for winter operations.

Skills/Qualifications:

• 1-3 Years experience operating a tractor
• Minimum 1 year experience plowing or salting sidewalks required
• Preference for candidates who have experience with Kubota tractors
• Experience with other winter operations considered an asset
• Works well as part of a team and individually
• Attention to detail and ability to follow detailed route maps

Licenses Required:

· G License in good standing

Job Types: Fixed term contract, Casual, Seasonal
Contract length: 5 months

Salary: $1,800.00-$5,170.00 per month
