3D Restoration Ltd. (Winmar) Fort McMurray is seeking a Skilled Painter, preferably with additional Bricklayer and Carpentry skills

Requirements

• 5+ years painting experience, including:
• prepping and painting interior and exterior surfaces, without direct supervision
• understanding what questions need to be asked ahead of time to ensure adequate job efficiency and quality is achieved
• Understanding what tools will be needed for a job ahead of time and arriving prepared with everything you may need
• Exceptional Cutting skills - steady techniques at applying paint
• Exceptional Rolling skills - able to cover surfaces in an efficient amount of time with minimal mess
• Able to identify sensitive areas on a job that need to be covered/sealed before paint is sprayed to ensure quality/cleanliness
• Apply paint to surfaces including canvas, walls, floors, doors, and cabinets
• Mix, match, and apply paint, varnish, shellac, enamel, and other finishes
• Prepare surfaces and apply paints, stains, shading stains, and clear finishes
• Scrape, sandpaper, prime, or seal surfaces prior to painting
• Clean walls to ensure proper adherence
• Cover surfaces with cloth or plastic to ensure protection
• Calculate amounts of required materials
• Operate and maintain high pressure low volume spray machines
• Determine, cut and apply wallpaper or fabric to walls
• Operate and maintain high pressure low volume spray machines
• Remove fixtures prior to painting
• Tape off areas when needed
• Apply touchups or second coats
• Remove paint splatters when finished
• Work on ladders to reach high ceilings or walls
• Ability to understand painting issues

• Ability to perform cross-functional work when required, including:
• Drywall repair, including mudding, taping, sanding – ready for paint stage
• Inspect and refurbish wall surfaces by means of the appropriate materials
• Fill cracks, holes, and joints with caulk, putty, plaster, or other fillers, using caulking guns or putty knives.
• Carpentry skills, including
• Repairs
• Trim work
• Hanging / installing Doors

• Bricklaying / masonry skills, including
• Read sketches and blueprints to calculate materials required
• Cut and trim bricks and concrete blocks to specification using hand and power tools

• Restore, clean or paint existing masonry structures
• Laying bricks, concrete block, glass block and various types of stone primarily for repair/restoration projects
• Remove and replace existing masonry work for repairs
• Handling weight up to 45kg (100lbs)
• Be physically fit, and able to work long days and weekends on occasion
• able to work from ladders when necessary
• Follow established protection safety procedures
• Operate and maintain various power and manual tools
• Erect scaffolding, movable and immovable staging and various rigging to gain access to difficult areas; moves furniture and equipment as necessary
• Clean up all equipment, including brushes and spray guns
• Clean up job site after work and return equipment and tools to maintain a clean work environment
• Read blueprints and drawings of the premise for the execution of job
• Perform any other duties as may be required
• Initiative, drive and enthusiasm are a must
• Ability to work individually or in a team environment
• Ability to communicate effectively in English both verbally and in writing

Job Types: Full-time, Permanent

Salary: $25.00-$35.00 per hour
