Job description

We are looking for a detail oriented Senior Accountant to join the team! The Senior Accountant is responsible for producing accurate and timely financial information. Primary responsibilities also include the full cycle monthly close, analyzing the general ledger and other financial work.

Responsibilities

  • Completes gross margin analysis of a company's products, inventory, and overall value.
  • Prepare, analyze, and report weekly, monthly, and quarterly gross margins, assist in month-end closing and inventory,
  • Use software and spreadsheets to help with cost decisions on production.
  • Maintenance and development of production, purchases, import and export, freight, accounts payable, accounts receivable, and shipping,
  • Monitor costs of goods sold and provide feedback to meet goals.
  • Assist with product costing, inventory, and various analysis.
  • Monthly journal entries and reconciliations as related to cost accounting.
  • Monitor purchase price variance and material usage variance
  • Perform all tasks required for the accounting close cycle
  • Prepares month-end close schedules
  • Prepare monthly journal entries and account reconciliations
  • Prepares audit schedules and work with external auditors during annual audit
  • Execute on special projects with minimal supervision and drive results to timely completion
  • Analyze trend of general ledger account fluctuations
  • Support portfolio companies with requested financial information or reporting requests
  • Support the team in automating reports and other tasks within the accounting function
  • Implement and support best practices
  • Collaboratively coaches and mentors other accounting team members
  • Work with consultants to implement new ERP systems

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree in Accounting or Finance
  • CPA or MBA preferred but not required
  • Minimum of 2+ years work experience in accounting
  • Strong working knowledge of GAAP
  • Strong Excel skills to include pivots, modeling, etc.
  • Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills
  • Strong interpersonal and verbal/written communication skills
  • Ability to handle multiple tasks with interruptions and ability to prioritize
  • Attention to detail

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $75,000.00 - $85,000.00 per year
