About the Role:

We’re looking for a self-motivated, detail oriented, high energy Staff Accountant to join the North American Finance Team. The position is heavily focused on the payables aspect of the department however the ideal candidate will be able to provide coverage for all accounting duties.

The successful candidate must be able to work in a team environment but also possess a strong independent work ethic, have excellent computer skills and follow-up skills, and thrive in a fast-paced environment. This position is full time and reports directly to the Director of Finance, North America.

Responsibilities:

· Weekly payables

· Daily bank reconciliation

· Purchase order management

· Corporate credit card processing and reconciliations

· Intercompany journals and expense allocation

· Vendor Management

· Subscription Management

· Fixed asset management

· Employee expense report processing and payments

· Sales tax preparation and reconciliation

· Month end close entries and reconciliations

· Receiving and distributing mail

· Assist the Director of Finance with reporting

· Accounts Receivable duties as required (backup)

· Other related duties as required

In addition to the day-to-day responsibilities, the ideal candidate will

  • Strive to identify opportunities to automate and streamline accounting operations
  • Ensure that accounting activities and reporting are in accordance with established legal, regulatory, and company procedures
  • Collaborate with team members to ensure consistent processes and policies across the various global subsidiaries.

Your Profile:

  • 4+ years of progressive accounting experience
  • Multi-subsidiary (intercompany) and multi-currency environment experience
  • Thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic work environment
  • Detail focused
  • Excellent communication, and interpersonal skills. Prior experience working with remote teams
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Strong ERP experience, preferably NetSuite One-World
  • Intermediate to advanced Excel skills
  • Experience with sales tax reporting. Experience with Avalara or similar tax compliance software a plus.
  • Bachelor’s degree or College Diploma in Accounting
  • Fluent in English required, French speaking a plus but not required
