The PepsiCo Canada Operations Coop program provides candidates a diverse range of opportunities to allow them to gain valuable experiences and build their leadership skills. Pursue your passion, explore the Possibilities, and make an impact with an organization that invests in its people!
Depending on the role that’s right for you, you’ll be based out of our Cambridge Frito Lay Site. Our coop projects and roles span a wide breadth of experiences in several divisions, including Frontline Leadership, Productivity Projects, Sustainability and Energy Conservation and Headquarters Supply Chain (see role descriptions below). In all positions, you will work on projects that require you to perform cost/benefit analysis and balance our four key imperatives: cost, quality, service, and people. Most importantly, you will develop leadership skills through coaching frontline teams or by leading and implementing project initiatives.
All of these experiences will challenge you to develop a strong foundation and network in supply chain. Many of our coops and New Grads come back for several different experiences, or rotate every 4 months.
Operations/Warehouse Team Leader
· Roles available in various departments - Manufacturing, Packaging, and Quality
· Lead a group of team members towards operational objectives.
· Responsible for people and team development, quality performance, cost, service and safety.
· Motivate your team to achieve established performance targets and coaching them on performance processes
· Strive to identify and implement productivity and efficiency initiatives (ex. reduction of scheduled downtime, identifying loss points for raw materials, leading front line employees, process changes and product & packaging waste reduction)
Project Leader
· Responsible for supporting Project Managers in a variety of tasks
· Support in the coordination of cost savings projects, including the planning, budgeting, and scheduling for the design, installation and verification of various projects
· Work with plants to develop and execute action plans towards productivity and process improvement
· Interpret and analyze data and performance indicators to identify improvement areas
Total Preventative Maintenance
· Prepare down day events, track progress, engage with front line, scorecard the progress, drive the program through frontline engagement.
· Follow up with Step audits to progress to next Step with Front line Teams.
· Root Cause Analysis and Breakdown Analysis Owner- complete with the front line and leadership team RCA’s and BDA’s as per the plants triggers, track progress and communicate to front line
What Are We Looking For?
o Must be enrolled in an undergraduate/graduate Business program with an Operations focus or an Engineering program
o Strong verbal, written, and presentation skills
o Strong technical and computer skills, specifically in Excel and PowerPoint.
o Outstanding organizational skills as demonstrated by your ability to handle multiple priorities and problem solve complex or difficult situations by anticipating obstacles and thinking ahead about next steps
o A passion for and a demonstrated commitment to extra-curricular activities and/or community involvement
o A demonstration of leadership and the ability to work well and thrive in environments where you are equally comfortable working alone or working as a key contributor to a team
o Experience in a manufacturing, warehouse, purchasing, distribution or logistics position is an asset but not a requirement
o Bilingual is an asset
o Collaborative team-player with a “roll-up your sleeves” approach
o Flexible and willing to work on off shifts (weekends or nights)
