Your Opportunity:

A Surgical Processor will collaborate with internal & external stakeholders. This role provides safe, clean, sterile equipment, supplies, and instruments according to prescribed standards based on approved procedures/techniques, Infection Prevention & Control & Workplace Health & Safety practices. Specific duties include decontamination of all surgical instrumentation & flexible/rigid scopes, inspection, testing, assembly, wrapping, sterilizing in steam or low temperature, and low- & high-level disinfection following prescribed techniques. You will maintain rigorous records/documentation as required. You must demonstrate understanding & knowledge of correct operating procedures for all reprocessing equipment. This role requires strong attention to detail and the ability to prioritize assignments using excellent time management skills. You must understand aseptic technique principles related to reprocessing medical devices, supplies, and equipment preparation. This role requires you to lift 10-20 pounds consistently and stand for 7.75 hours to perform repetitive tasks. Drumheller is located 135 km from Calgary and 160 km from Red Deer, with a population of 8,029 and is located in the valley of the Alberta Badlands. Description:

As a Surgical Processor, you will be responsible for the decontamination, reassembly and sterilization of hospital supplies, equipment and surgical instrumentation. You will use the principles of aseptic technique and follow Universal Precautions in the prevention of Hospital Acquired Infections (HAI). You will ensure instrumentation and equipment is in proper working order, perform biological, chemical and quality assurance testing and report problems to the supervisor or designate.
