BayCare Health Systems is currently seeking an experienced Surgical Techs to join our outstanding and compassionate float team. BayCare offers a variety of assignment options including:

• Regional Pool- Minimum commitment is 4 shifts per 6 weeks to include 2 weekend shifts. Position fills daily needs within an assigned region and is required to take assignments based upon regional needs.
• System Pool- 13-week full time assignment for assigned department.
• Seasonal Pool/Single Hospital- 13-, 20- or 26- week assignments for assigned departments. Must live 100 miles from BayCare hospital.

• Seasonal Pool/Multi Hospital- 13-, 20- or 26- week assignments for multiple hospitals. Must live 100 miles from BayCare Hospital

The Surgical Technologist is a member of the health care team who performs technical support in the perioperative period under the direction and supervision of a RN according to accepted clinical standards of care.

• Knowledge of sterile technique, instrumentation, equipment, and sterile field set-up
• Communicates variation in patient condition to appropriate person and intervenes as necessary
• Assists in maintaining a clean and safe environment
• Reports problems and needs for follow up with appropriate department or team member in a timely manner

Requirements:

• 2 years' experience with CST. 8 years' experience required without CST
• Basic Life Support Certification (BLS) with the American Heart Association or American Red 1-year Surgical
• High School Diploma or Equivalent
• Completion of an Accredited Surgical Technology Program OR a military OR hospital-based training in Surgical Technology
