Position overview:

Paragon is looking for a highly motivated individual for tactical security guard position for a Class A commercial office building in Downtown Toronto. The hours for this position are all shifts, days, afternoons, and nights. Police Foundation graduates are preferred.

Role and Responsibilities:

• Answering and making work related phone calls
• Reviewing and responding to work related emails
• Answering questions and aiding people in need
• Knowledge of the property and nearby amenities
• Knowledge of the client’s policies and procedures
• Knowledge of relevant criminal codes and by-laws
• Ensuring the safety and security of the property and its occupants
• Identifying and reporting Safety Hazards
• Professionally enforcing rule infractions
• Responding to critical incidents, emergencies, and alarms
• Conducting regular patrols of the interior and exterior of the premises
• Securing restricted areas
• Monitoring security cameras
• Use of computers, two-way radios and building automation systems
• Conducting Audits of building equipment and keys
• Providing access and issuing keys to contractors, when authorized
• Completion of Incident Reports and memo book entries
• Contacting Paragon Security, the client, or emergency services depending on the incident

Minimum Requirements:

• Must be available to work full time, all shifts (days/nights/evenings/rotations)
• Valid Ontario Security Guard License
• Strong customer service skills
• Demonstrated punctuality and reliability, tact and diplomacy
• Post-Secondary education in a Law Enforcement/Security program preferred
• Excellent verbal/written communication skills
• Have good computer skills (Word, Excel, emails, typing)
