Job Summary
The Electronic Medical Record Training Specialist works in collaboration with Heathcare Technology and Data Management, Clinical programs, Newfoundland and Labrador Centre for Health Information (NLCHI) and management/staff of the HISI department. The Training Specialist will support EMR deployment, collaborate with stakeholders to establish record standardization, support change management initiatives, provide education/training to staff and professional staff who are linked to EMR and act as the Eastern Health EMR reconcile user. Additionally, will develop processes to maintain and sustain data quality. The Training Specialist will provide direction and support in the management and measurement of ongoing quality, practice and safety initiatives with in the HISI department and in all health record areas within Eastern Health.

Job Qualifications
Education
Graduation from high school or equivalent
Completion of Bachelor's Degree in health related field, information management or computer science or equivalent is required.
Certification as a Health Information Management Professional from the Canadian Health Information Management Association (CHIMA) is considered an asset.
Experience
Minimum two (2) years experience in health information management and/or health record experience is required.
Teaching and/or quality improvement experience is required
Competencies (Knowledge, Skills & Abilities
Working knowledge of Microsoft office Suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and Access & Outlook/Email) as well as webinar and telephony.
Demonstrated exceptional organization and analytical/critical thinking abilities.
Ability to communicate effectively.
Ability to work effectively and efficiently under pressure.
Ability to communicate with, and relate to, many diverse groups of people, including but not limited to internal and external stakeholders such as: Management, Finance, Clinicians, Health Information Services and Informatics, Health Technology and Data Management, CIHI & NLCHI
