Bellwyck is looking for 1 Utility Operator – Afternoon shift in their Owen Sound facility. (Sunday to Thursday 3:30pm to 12:00am). Full Training will be provided.

RESPONSIBILITIES ASSOCIATED WITH PERFORMING THE JOB:
- Responsible for the basic set-up, operation and running of the Polar guillotine, jogger aerator as well as the stringing machines.
- Ensures the production of a high quality product by making required adjustments to equipment.
- Performs material handling with the use of a hand truck or forklift to move or stage raw materials and finished product.
- Supports and assists other machine operators and job functions across the Plant.
- Completes required departmental paperwork in an accurate and timely manner.
- Consistently applies Company SOP’s relative to production, quality and pharmaceutical standards.
- Data enters production data (e.g. counts) in a timely manner ensuring accuracy.
- Performs routine preventive maintenance and documents accordingly.
- Undertakes Trimming/Checking/Handler job tasks as required/assigned.
- Cross trains and learns other Plant job functions as assigned, providing back-up support.
- Performs Line Clearances and Make-Ready Approvals where trained/designated.
- Responsible for adhering to housekeeping as well as health/safety procedures and practices.
- Responsible for other duties as required.
SKILLS, KNOWLEDGE/EXPERIENCE REQUIRED TO PERFORM THE JOB:
- Core skills in Mathematics and English usually associated with the completion of high school.
- Minimum 1 year experience in a manufacturing environment with demonstrated ability and mechanical aptitude to set-up, adjust and run manufacturing equipment as well as perform routine preventative maintenance.
- Manual and finger dexterity to work with machinery and make adjustments.
- Visual Inspection skills to detect quality defects with manufactured product.
- Mechanical ability and dexterity to operate a forklift and scissor lift, as well as, other auxiliary equipment such as balers, jogger/aerator, pile turner/pallet invertor, guillotine, skid turner, taper, pump cart, etc.
- Strong interpersonal skills combined with the ability to work co-operatively as part of a team.
- Knowledge of computers to be able to learn/use custom software programs.
- Demonstrated ability to take direction, learn and apply.
Wage: $17.50 + 15% premium
