The West Vancouver Community Services Department, in partnership with Enhance West Van, has an opening for a casual Administrative and Communications Assistant with a focus on digital communications with Enhance West Van.
Reporting to the Executive Director of Enhance West Van, this position will be responsible for:
- Providing general administrative support including the preparation of reports, presentations, statistics, correspondence, Board packages, agendas, and meeting minutes;
- Assisting in the coordination of meetings and taking minutes;
- Managing digital communications, social media, related analytics and online marketing;
- Supporting the Executive Director in projects as required;
- Organizing office functions including mail distribution, scheduling, ordering office supplies, filing and maintaining records;
- Providing communications to internal and external stakeholders.
The preferred candidate will possess: excellent multi-tasking abilities; the ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships; the ability to exercise independent judgment, initiative, tact, and diplomacy; sound knowledge of software applications, including web design and graphics; and k nowledge of non-profit organizations and its relationships with members and community residents, local government, and the private sector.
The successful candidate has completed courses in administration support, communications or marketing and possesses at least three years’ experience in an office environment, or a combination of education and comprehensive related experience. A BC Driver’s Licence valid for the Province of British Columbia is required.
The successful candidate will be required to supply an acceptable Police Information Check and a copy of their credentials. All District of West Vancouver employees are required to be fully vaccinated against COVID-19 as a condition of hire.
