Position Overview:

Working with experienced engineers, the Junior Engineer will perform engineering tasks in support of fixed wing / rotary wing Aircraft Structural Integrity Programs (ASIP) and conducting structural analysis in support of aircraft modification programs.

Key Areas of Respomsibility:

  • Support the CP140 Aurora and/or CH149 Cormorant Aircraft Structural Integrity Programs (ASIP) including conducting data analysis;
  • Participate in aircraft modification design projects;
  • Participate in aircraft test programs;
  • Prepare software/database requirements, user instructions and testing documentation and Perform software testing according to prepared test scripts;
  • Design and substantiate non-standard repairs;
  • Perform structural analyses of repairs and modifications to aircraft structures;
  • Conduct Durability and Damage Tolerance Analyses (D/DTA) under the supervision of a senior D/DTA specialist;
  • Assist in the preparation of formal Reports and other engineering deliverables;
  • Other duties as tasked/required.

Position Requirements:

  • Bachelors or Masters degree in Aeronautical, Mechanical or Civil Engineering
  • Ability to work both independently and in a team environment
  • Willingness and enthusiasm to learn
  • Excellent oral, written and presentation skills
  • Knowledge of the MS Office and MS Windows environments
  • Experience with one or more of the following is not necessary but will be considered an asset:
    • Static analysis, fatigue analysis and fracture mechanics or finite element analysis
    • Collection, reduction, analysis and trending of engineering data
    • Statistical analysis
    • Design
    • Drafting
    • Testing
    • Computer programming and databases
  • Participate in Continuous Improvement activities in your area.
  • Incumbents must be able to pass and maintain Public Services and Procurement Canada (PSPC) and Transport Canada security clearances.
  • The successful applicants will be eligible to meet requirements for the U.S International Traffic In Arms Regulations (ITAR), and Canadian Controlled Goods Program (CGP).
  • Applicants must be able to pass and maintain a Level II (Secret) security clearance with the Department of National Defence.
