JOB DESCRIPTION POSITION Job Title: Controller – Accounting Manager

  • Reports to: Justin Hodson
  • Job Classification: Exempt
  • Job Type: Full-Time
  • Working Hours: Available 24/7
  • Location: Temecula Office
  • Compensation: $75,000 - $100,000, depending on experience

SUMMARY
The Controller-Accounting Manager is responsible for managing the Company’s general accounting and treasury functions, including but not limited to, financial reporting, accounts receivable, accounts payable, payroll, and taxes. This position is responsible for developing and maintaining accounting principles, practices and procedures to ensure accurate and timely reporting of financial statements and all related regulatory filings in accordance with Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP) and must have experience with risk management. The Controller-Accounting Manager will also advise on financial strategy, budgets, forecasting, and projects.
DUTIES

  • Manages all finance and accounting operations for the company
  • Manages and complies with local, state, and federal government reporting requirements and tax filings
  • Documents, monitors and updates accounting policies to maintain and strengthen internal controls
  • Reviews and analyzes financial statements to ensure accuracy, completeness and compliance
  • Oversees preparation of budgets and forecasts
  • Analyzes costs and profits
  • Ensures an accurate and timely monthly, quarterly and year-end close
  • Assesses current practices and procedures and makes recommendations for improvements
  • Develops staff by managing performance, setting goals, providing ongoing training, and maintaining strong employee relationships
  • Performs other related duties as necessary or assigned

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

  • Maintains a documented system of accounting policies and procedures; implements a system of controls over accounting transactions to minimize risk
  • Oversees and manages the general accounting functions of the company, including, but not limited to general ledger accounts payable, accounts receivable, bookkeeping, payroll, loss prevention, financial reporting, auditing and tax preparation
  • Ensuring the company's financial statements are prepared accurately, and on a timely basis, in accordance with GAAP
  • Year-end company and client tax and audit projects

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Education level: Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or Business with an emphasis in accounting, or a related field (Required)
  • CPA or MBA (Preferred)
  • 5-10 years’ experience as an Accountant or related field (Preferred)
  • Experience with cash management and risk assessment
  • Experience as an accounting supervisor, or manager preferred
  • Strong Attention to Detail
  • Excellent communication (written and verbal)
  • Proficient in accounting and tax preparation software
  • Proficient in QuickBooks
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite or similar software
  • Knowledge of Adobe
  • Willing and able to handle stressful situations
  • Strong interpersonal and relationship-building skills; team player with a positive, can-do approach

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $75,000.00 - $100,000.00 per year
