OWNER/OPERATOR – DARTMOUTH, NS

SCHEDULE: As assigned

OVERALL PURPOSE:
To participate in the safe, accurate and timely processing of deliveries to meet LOOMIS EXPRESS on-time performance standards.

Revenue/Pay: The posted route revenue (pay) is estimated based on the average number of deliveries/pieces and other billable items.

MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Must own or be willing to obtain vehicle that meets Company requirements
• Delivery and Pick-Up of Freight/Packages
• Make all reasonable efforts to meet established delivery times
• Perform safety checks on truck before each use
• Ensure proper maintenance of truck
• Operate truck/van as required
• Scanner usage
• Customer service
• Be able to lift heavy packages/freight as required
• Other duties as assigned and as detailed within the CBA & business agreement

POSITION REQUIREMENTS:

• High School education
• Valid provincial driver’s license
• Must have a clean driver’s abstract
• Must own or be willing to obtain own 16FT cube vehicle
• Must be able to perform repetitive tasks (getting in and out of truck/van, lifting/delivering packages/freight by hand and/or with use of hand cart
• Flexible to work routes assigned
