Responsibilities
The Department Support Assistant is employed in Nursing Home who is under the supervision of a Certified Nursing Assistant or Registered/LPN Nurse to assist with care duties for residents related to activities of daily living needs. The role of the Department Support Assistant is a compliment to the functions and duties of CNA’s and Nurses as viable asset in caring for residents direct care needs. This is a temporary position.
Essential Key Job Responsibilities
- Respond to call light and provide needs for residents within the scope of unregistered/unlicensed staff.
- Cut meat, butter bread and apply condiments to resident’s plates at meal time.
- Place residents at table for meals, snacks, and activities.
- Apply clothing protectors and napkins to residents, wash hands and face for those that need assistance.
- Provides light snacks for the residents from items stocked by dietary department.
- Launder resident clothing and deliver to appropriate Resident
- Cleaning of residents’ kitchenette and dining area.
- Prepare tables for resident meal delivery from dietary department.
- Assist in feeding residents if certified.
