The Red Hat Developer Experience Business Unit is looking for a highly motivated individual who wants to gain hands-on experience with open source and Red Hat products during a summer internship to join us as a Product Management Intern. As a technical intern in this role, you will:
- Work with various stakeholders to identify a competitive plan for developer tooling
- Perform the competitive analysis by getting hands on with actual tools and services
- Leverage existing competitive work
- Solicit additional members to perform competitive evaluations
- Summarize the findings in a clear and concise way, including delivery of findings to stakeholders
- Provide recommendations to PM team on product adjustments
- Work with Dev Tools leadership throughout the project to ensure alignment with goals and areas of focus
- Ability to work full-time May-August
- Currently pursuing an undergraduate degree in engineering, computer science, or a related field
- Knowledge of the UNIX or Linux operating system (any distribution)
- Coding experience in languages like Java, JavaScript, C or Python
- Working in a team environment
- Good written and verbal communication skills
The following are considered a plus:
- Previous code contributions to or participation in open source projects or code samples on GitHub
- Knowledge of Kubernetes, OpenShift, Docker, AWS, Google Cloud Platform, Microsoft Azure or Digital Ocean
- Usage of developer tools such as: GitHub, VS Code, Eclipse desktop, Jenkins, or related
- Interest in: DevOps, Security, Software Development Life Cycle
