Head Ticket Taker - Uptown

TO Live is currently seeking Head Ticket Taker to join us for our diverse lineup of shows and other activities at our uptown (North York) location, the Meridian Arts Centre.
These are seasonal part-time positions for outgoing customer service oriented team players that thrive in a fast paced, diverse theatre environment.
These positions work a varied schedule including weekdays, weekday evenings and weekends. Candidates must have a flexible schedule and be available to work any of the above. Weekday matinee shifts are mandatory. This is a unionized position; successful candidates will be required to join IATSE Local B-173.
ACTIVITIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Maintain high level of customer service, interpersonal, oral and written communication at all times.
- Collect show and box office information; based on this information you may be required to remove/put seats back in prior to performance.
- Greet and escort patrons with mobility issues to their seats; check on them during the intermission (when applicable) and escort these patrons back to the front doors at the end of the performance.
- Communicate with Captains and/or Management and liaise with Box Office regarding any accessible seating concerns.
- Be present at the main doors throughout the event or performance to:
- Set up scanners and unlock doors in preparation for lobby opening.
- Brief ticket takers on specific issues or details.
- Collect will call when box office closes.
- Coordinate appropriate doors opening pre-show, during intermission and post-show.
JOB SPECIFICATIONS
- Maintain high level of customer, interpersonal, oral and written communication at all times. Skill expectations include:
- Displays fair and consistent behaviour.
- Able to make difficult and quick decisions under stress, pressure or emergency situations, taking full responsibility for actions at all times
- Displays consistent and strong people skills, including teamwork, effective communication (written and oral), respect for themselves and those around them.
WORKING CONDITIONS
- Flexibility in hours includes occasional work on days, nights and weekends as required.
- Loud noise during some performances and events.
- Ability to stand and walk freely and quickly.
- Lack of natural light in workplace.
- Travel between TO Live venues as required.
- Adhere to the TO Live Health and Safety Policies and protocols, including COVID-19 vaccine and guidelines
