Position Summary

The Manager of Quality and HSE will have overall responsibility for the ongoing development, the systematic monitoring and the evaluation of the company’s quality and HSE programs to ensure continual improvement and standards are being met within the company.

Key Responsibilities

The general responsibilities for this position are as follows:

  • Provide overall leadership in the quality and HSE areas.
  • Promote quality and HSE achievement and performance improvement throughout the organization.
  • Manage the organizations training programs for quality and safety. Ensuring training meets legislated requirements and applicable standards.
  • Ensure compliance with national and international standards and legislation as required.
  • Maintain the Management System documentation and controls.
  • Ensure all company registrations, certifications and achievements are maintained
  • (ISO 9001:2015, COR Certifications, ABSA, CWB, AWS etc.).
  • Liaise with all governing bodies in regard to the company’s registrations and certifications.
  • Manage Drug & Alcohol Program.
  • Complete WCB Case Management.
  • Monitor performance through gathering relevant data and producing statistical reports in accordance with company guidelines.
  • Develop, audit and control the company policies and procedures.
  • Plan, conduct and oversee all required audits.
  • Monitor and ensure compliance to all customer qualification requirements in quality and HSE (ISNetworld, Avetta, ComplyWorks, etc.).
  • Manage the records and forms related to the HSE and Quality Programs to ensure compliance (insurance, drivers abstracts, meeting minutes, inspections etc.).
  • Manage vendor and subcontractor requirements with regards to qualification.
  • Ensure staff is motivated and excited about the work they are doing and committed to being operationally excellent.

Qualifications Required

The successful candidate for this role will have some combination of the following qualifications:

  • Strong organizational ability and excellent communication skills.
  • 5+ years working experience in a leadership position in the area of quality and/or HSE.
  • Technical degree or equivalent skills and experience.
  • Working knowledge of quality control in a shop environment with CWB and ASME B31.3 and 31.1, ISO 9001:2015 and Canadian Occupational Health and Safety Codes.
  • Excellent communication including written English skills
  • Good supervisory experience and strong leadership qualities.
  • A strong customer focus.

Some travel will be required to Edmonton, Grande Prairie, Langley and Prince George
