Job Description

Job Objective:

The Clinician is a position filled by a Licensed Mental Health Professional (LMHP) who is fully licensed or eligible (LMHP-E). The Clinician provides clinical leadership and supervision to Qualified Mental Health Professionals (QMHP). The Clinician conducts thorough and immediate assessment of behavioral health crisis and psychosocial needs, including screening for suicidal or homicidal risk.

Immediate Supervisor: Clinical Director

Primary Responsibilities:

• Secondary oversight of clinical service delivery by providing direct and/or indirect supervision to QMHPs. This includes face to face supervision and feedback relative to client assessments, admissions, treatment plan development and implementation, treatment plan modification and discharge planning.
• Conduct comprehensive needs assessments and create Individual Service Plans (ISPs) and Crisis Education and Prevention Plans (CEPPs) as well as other necessary program specific documentation.
• Report to the Clinical Director in oversight of the quantitative and qualitative records review process for client files; assurance of compliance with contract, accreditation, and licensure expectations and standards.
• Certain positions do require LMHP or LMHP-E to be on site either at the 23-Hr Crisis Stabilization facility or in the community.
• Provide health literacy counseling
• Provide individual and family therapy
• Maintain an outpatient caseload
• Works collaboratively with a multidisciplinary treatment team and community based partners.
• Partners with staff and clients to develop and oversee the implementation of person-centered recovery-based treatment plans
• Provides crisis intervention as indicated
• Monitors service quality and treatment outcomes

• Experience in managing organizational projects to include balancing competing priorities, complex situations and tight deadlines;
• Excellent written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills;
• Ability to be articulate, concisely, compellingly, and diplomatically;
• Skilled in managing and interacting with a staff of different cultural and demographic backgrounds;

• Ability to interact effectively with counterparts within and outside of the organization;
• Ability to foster and model an effective client service;
• Ability to coach, counsel and develop QMHPs, including those of different racial, cultural and demographic backgrounds;

• Ability to provide clear expectations and directions;
• Ability to solve complex problems

Qualifications and Requirements:

• Master’s degree in human services (counseling, psychology, social work). The degree must be from an accredited college or university.
• Must be licensed eligible and have submitted approved application to State of Virginia Licensing Board.
• Must be able to past DBHDS criminal background check and Central Registry Checks.
• Must have experience in risk management and program oversight.
• Contractor must be certified as being Tuberculosis free
• Contractor must clear criminal background and CPS registry checks

Training:

· It is preferred that candidate is certified in: Cardio Pulmonary Resuscitation (CPR), First Aid, and Therapeutic Options of Virginia (TOVA). Training will be provided regularly.

Licensed Clinicians are required to use their personal vehicles to meet clients and support QMHPs. Therefore, at the time of hire Licensed Clinicians must provide proof of driver’s license and insurance. Should a Licensed Clinician receive a moving traffic violation at any time after employment the Licensed Clinician must notify their Clinical Director about the incident the next business day after receiving the violation. Further, Licensed Clinicians will be taken off the schedule in the event they have any lapse in automobile insurance coverage.

Job Type: Contract

Pay: $40.00 - $55.00 per hour
