Stuart Olson is currently seeking a Millwright for an immediate start date. Working a 8 days on and 6 days off schedule, staying in the Camp which has a movie theatre, private rooms and a fitness facility.
This position is based on a client site near Conklin, Alberta. Flights provided from Edmonton and Calgary.
Responsibilities:
The Journeyperson Millwright will be responsible for the following:
- Multi-Stage pumps repair, reciprocating pump repair, gear box repair, steam turbine experience would all be considered an asset.
- All general maintenance duties on our industrial construction project.
- Read diagrams and schematic drawings, blue-prints, and service manuals to determine work procedures.
- Operate rigging equipment and dollies to place heavy machinery and parts.
- Fit bearings, align gears and shafts, attach motors, and connect couplings and belts to precise tolerances.
- Align and test equipment and make any necessary adjustments.
- Perform predictive and operational procedures.
- Repair and/or replace defective parts.
- Service and repair hydraulic and pneumatic systems.
- Maintain an inventory of replacement parts.
- Prepare layout including material selection, sequence planning and methods of work.
- Ensure work areas are kept clean and free of hazards.
- Ensure tools and equipment are returned to job boxes and tool cribs.
- Report all incidents, “near miss” incidents including damages/non-damage, injury/non-injury incidents.
- Review and participate in the preparation of safe work practices/procedures as required.
- Other tasks and labor duties as required on the jobsite.
Qualifications
- Journeyman Millwright ticket
- Maintenance experience an asset
- H2S Alive
- Common Safety Orientation (CSO)
- Confined Space
- Ability to take direction and follow through on instructions
- Committed dedication to safety; reflected in practice and experience
- Ability to work collaboratively
- Superior written and verbal communication skills
- Superior focus on customer satisfaction
- Valid driver’s license
- Pre-access Drug and Alcohol testing is required
