Stuart Olson is currently seeking a Millwright for an immediate start date. Working a 8 days on and 6 days off schedule, staying in the Camp which has a movie theatre, private rooms and a fitness facility.
This position is based on a client site near Conklin, Alberta. Flights provided from Edmonton and Calgary.
Responsibilities:
The Journeyperson Millwright will be responsible for the following:
  • Multi-Stage pumps repair, reciprocating pump repair, gear box repair, steam turbine experience would all be considered an asset.
  • All general maintenance duties on our industrial construction project.
  • Read diagrams and schematic drawings, blue-prints, and service manuals to determine work procedures.
  • Operate rigging equipment and dollies to place heavy machinery and parts.
  • Fit bearings, align gears and shafts, attach motors, and connect couplings and belts to precise tolerances.
  • Align and test equipment and make any necessary adjustments.
  • Perform predictive and operational procedures.
  • Repair and/or replace defective parts.
  • Service and repair hydraulic and pneumatic systems.
  • Maintain an inventory of replacement parts.
  • Prepare layout including material selection, sequence planning and methods of work.
  • Ensure work areas are kept clean and free of hazards.
  • Ensure tools and equipment are returned to job boxes and tool cribs.
  • Report all incidents, “near miss” incidents including damages/non-damage, injury/non-injury incidents.
  • Review and participate in the preparation of safe work practices/procedures as required.
  • Other tasks and labor duties as required on the jobsite.
Qualifications
  • Journeyman Millwright ticket
  • Maintenance experience an asset
  • H2S Alive
  • Common Safety Orientation (CSO)
  • Confined Space
  • Ability to take direction and follow through on instructions
  • Committed dedication to safety; reflected in practice and experience
  • Ability to work collaboratively
  • Superior written and verbal communication skills
  • Superior focus on customer satisfaction
  • Valid driver’s license
  • Pre-access Drug and Alcohol testing is required
